Standard transaction fees on the basic platform are notably higher than competitors, sometimes reaching 1.5% or more. The advanced trading platform (formerly Coinbase Pro) offers lower fees but fragments the experience. Customer support has historically been a pain point, with users reporting slow response times during market volatility—exactly when you need help most. Security is generally strong, with insurance on custodial funds and robust two-factor authentication. It's a solid entry point into crypto, but cost-conscious traders will likely graduate to cheaper platforms.
