Cash App excels at its core mission of simple peer-to-peer payments, where it delivers a fast, frictionless experience that has made it ubiquitous in the US. The customizable Cash Card with merchant-specific Boost discounts adds genuine value, and the interface is clean and approachable. Where Cash App gets more ambitious -- and less convincing -- is in its financial services expansion. Bitcoin trading is convenient but comes with wider spreads than dedicated exchanges, and the stock investing feature with fractional shares is bare-bones compared to purpose-built investment platforms. As a crypto wallet, it supports only Bitcoin, which is extremely limiting. Direct deposit with early access and fee-free ATM networks through Allpoint are solid banking features. The main concerns are customer support, which is notoriously difficult to reach, and occasional account freezes that frustrate users. Cash App is an excellent payment tool that stretches thin as a jack-of-all-trades financial app.
