Gran Turismo 7 is a love letter to automotive culture wrapped in one of the most visually stunning racing simulations ever made. On PS5, the ray-traced reflections and lighting produce genuinely photorealistic moments, and the DualSense haptic feedback conveys road texture with remarkable subtlety. The driving physics strike an excellent balance between simulation accuracy and accessibility, and the car collection meta-game -- building a garage from humble hatchbacks to legendary supercars -- provides compelling long-term motivation. The roster of 400-plus meticulously detailed cars is a gearhead's dream. However, the always-online requirement is a persistent frustration, and the microtransaction-driven economy at launch felt at odds with the series' traditionally generous progression. Post-launch updates have improved the credit economy, but the underlying structure remains somewhat grindy. The campaign mode, while nostalgic, can feel like extended tutorials for experienced players. Despite these missteps, GT7's core driving experience and presentation are exceptional.
