Intex Excursion Pro K2

3.9
product Overall
The Excursion Pro K2 is Intex's grown-up kayak, and it is startlingly complete for the money. The three-ply laminated PVC with a polyester core feels a full class tougher than the vinyl on the Challenger, the package includes aluminum paddles, a high-output pump, adjustable bucket seats with footrests, two rod holders, and two skeg options for deep or shallow water — and street prices commonly land between $300 and $500 all-in. For a couple who wants to fish farm ponds or float slow rivers a few weekends a summer, it is arguably all the boat required. The ceiling is structural. A 400-pound capacity is tight for two adults before any gear goes aboard, the hull still flexes and hinges through chop the way all non-drop-stitch tubes do, tracking is adequate rather than good even with the larger skeg, and the warranty runs a fraction of Sea Eagle's three years. It ranks ninth because the 370 Sport carries 250 pounds more and is backed far longer for similar money; it stays comfortably ahead of the Challenger because the fabric, seats, and outfitting are all a generation better.
