Windy (Windy.com) is a weather visualization app developed by Windyty, SE, a Czech company. It renders forecast data from multiple global weather models (including ECMWF, GFS, and ICON) as interactive, animated maps of wind, precipitation, temperature, waves, and other atmospheric layers, letting users compare model outputs for the same location side by side. The app is popular with pilots, sailors, paragliders, kitesurfers, and storm watchers who need detailed wind and pressure data beyond a basic daily forecast, as well as with general users who like Windy's visual map-based approach to weather. Users can tap anywhere on the map for a detailed point forecast, save favorite locations, and view specialized layers like snow cover, air quality, and sea temperature.
