NRS Pike Pro

4.4
product Overall
The Pike Pro is the inflatable that finally makes kayak fishing work without a truck or roof rack. The full-length 4-inch drop-stitch deck inflates rigid enough that standing to cast feels routine rather than daring, helped by a 38-inch beam and a grippy EVA foam pad that doubles as hook protection and includes a molded-in 24-inch fish ruler. The Pro package arrives genuinely fishing-ready — YakAttack rod holders, tackle crate, paddle holder, folding seat, and adjustable foot pegs — and a rigid keel insert in the bow keeps tracking honest on flatwater. At 48 pounds hull weight it packs into a duffel that fits any hatchback. Two numbers keep it from ranking higher in our list. The first is $1,795 for the Pro build, which overlaps hard-shell pedal territory; the standard Pike at $1,395 softens this but strips the outfitting. The second is a 375-pound capacity — the lowest of any tandem-size boat we ranked — which a heavier angler with a loaded crate and battery will genuinely test. As a fishing tool it is excellent; as an all-around inflatable it is narrow, and this ranking rewards range.
