Ducati

Ducati is an Italian manufacturer of high-performance motorcycles founded in 1926 in Bologna, Italy, where the company remains headquartered and maintains its primary manufacturing facility. Originally established as Societa Scientifica Radio Brevetti Ducati, producing radio components, the company transitioned to motorcycle production in 1946. Ducati has been a subsidiary of Audi AG, part of the Volkswagen Group, since 2012, following its acquisition from the investment fund Investindustrial. Ducati is renowned for its desmodromic valve actuation system, a distinctive engineering feature used across nearly all of its motorcycle engines, in which the engine mechanically controls both the opening and closing of valves rather than relying on return springs. The company's current motorcycle lineup spans multiple segments: the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4 in the superbike and naked sport categories, the Monster as an iconic naked roadster, the Multistrada V4 for adventure touring, the Diavel for power cruising, the Hypermotard for supermotard riding, and the DesertX for off-road adventure. Ducati holds a prominent position in motorcycle racing, competing in MotoGP through the factory Ducati Lenovo Team and in World Superbike Championship, where the Panigale V4 R serves as the basis for the racing machine. The brand has won multiple MotoGP and WSBK championships. Ducati produces approximately 60,000 motorcycles per year and sells them through a global dealer network in over 90 countries. The Borgo Panigale factory in Bologna also houses the Ducati Museum, documenting the company's history and racing heritage.
