Feadship is a Dutch consortium of yacht builders and naval architects widely regarded as one of the premier custom superyacht builders in the world. The organization was established in 1949 as the First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders, a cooperative formed to market Dutch-built yachts internationally following the Second World War. Feadship operates through two member shipyards, Royal Van Lent in Kaag and De Vries in Makkum, along with the De Voogt Naval Architects design studio in Haarlem. All three entities are based in the Netherlands. Feadship builds exclusively custom superyachts, with no two vessels sharing the same design. Each yacht is engineered and constructed to the individual specifications of its owner, with the entire process from initial concept to sea trials typically spanning three to five years. The shipyard has delivered vessels ranging from approximately 40 meters to over 110 meters in length, with recent launches including the 119-meter Project 821, one of the largest motor yachts ever built in the Netherlands. Feadship yachts are constructed in steel and aluminum and are recognized for their engineering precision, build quality, and innovative design features. The consortium is owned by two family-run Dutch companies, the Hakvoort and De Vries families, and has maintained its independence throughout its history. Feadship has delivered more than 300 yachts since its founding and maintains a dedicated refit division for the ongoing maintenance and modernization of its fleet. The organization's De Voogt Naval Architects studio provides in-house design and engineering services for every Feadship project.
