The Luxe Brewer Thermal is what happens when a company listens to seven years of feedback on a beloved machine. Breville retired the Precision Brewer in 2025 and shipped its successor with the two fixes owners begged for: a removable water tank and a dual-wall thermal carafe that keeps coffee above 150°F for over four hours. The fundamentals stayed excellent. SCA Golden Cup certification means the 1,650-watt PID-controlled thermocoil was independently verified to hold the 197-205°F window, and the mode dial runs from a strict Golden Cup preset through strong, iced, and cold-brew settings, with a fast mode that fills the 60-ounce carafe in roughly half the time of most rivals. The honest criticisms: at $320-350 it is a serious purchase, most owners will never touch half the settings, and Breville's electronics-dense appliances do not have the decades-long service record of a Moccamaster. But as a package — certified extraction, big thermal batches, real scheduling, and a price below the Dutch icon it dethroned — nothing in drip coffee currently beats it. This is the best drip coffee maker for most kitchens.
