ENO DoubleNest Hammock

4.5
product Overall
The DoubleNest is the default camping hammock for a reason. The 9'6" x 6'4" body of 70D FreeWave nylon gives a single sleeper enough fabric to lie diagonally and get a reasonably flat lay, and the 400 lb rating with triple-stitched seams means it shrugs off years of careless use. At 19 oz it packs to roughly the size of a grapefruit inside its own integrated stuff sack, and the aluminum wiregate carabiners clip to any suspension in seconds. The catch is that ENO sells the suspension separately: budget another $30 or so for Atlas straps before you can hang it, which pushes the real cost of ownership above the sticker price. It also has no bug net or tarp, so overnight campers in insect country will need the add-on ecosystem — extensive, but each piece costs extra. The fabric is durable rather than plush; Kammok's 40D diamond ripstop feels noticeably softer against bare skin. As a do-everything hammock for campsites, paddling trips, and backyard duty, though, nothing matches its blend of durability, availability, and resale-proof reputation.
400 lb capacity with triple-stitched seams
Generous 9'6" x 6'4" fabric allows a flat diagonal lay
Huge accessory ecosystem (bug nets, tarps, quilts)
Integrated stuff sack with stash pocket
Tree straps sold separately, raising the true cost
70D fabric is durable but not the softest available
No bug or weather protection without add-ons
