ENO SingleNest Hammock

3.7
product Overall
There is nothing wrong with the SingleNest — and that is precisely its problem. It remains the benchmark solo hammock: the same durable 70D FreeWave nylon and 400-pound rating as the category-winning DoubleNest, triple-stitched into a trimmer 9'6" by 4'10" cut that packs smaller and weighs a pleasant 16 ounces. Build quality, brand support, and ENO's unmatched accessory ecosystem all carry over intact. As a solo hammock judged in isolation, it is thoroughly good. The trouble is the sibling on the same shelf. The DoubleNest costs only about $15 more and buys 18 extra inches of width, which transforms the diagonal lay — the flat, comfortable position that is the entire point of a gathered-end hammock. For nearly everyone, that is the easiest $15 upgrade in outdoor gear. Add that straps are sold separately (budget roughly $30 more), and the SingleNest's all-in price lands well above complete budget kits like the Wise Owl DoubleOwl, which includes suspension for half the money. The case for the SingleNest is narrow but real: smaller campers who genuinely value the tighter pack size and trimmer fabric. Everyone else should spend the extra $15 on the DoubleNest and never think about it again.
