Project Zomboid is an isometric zombie survival sandbox from The Indie Stone, famous for its uncompromising tagline: 'This is how you died.' Set in a meticulously simulated Knox County, Kentucky, it tasks players with surviving as long as possible against sluggish but relentless Romero-style hordes. Its survival simulation runs deeper than almost any competitor, modeling nutrition, injuries, infection, mental state, carpentry, farming, mechanics, and even the slow decay of the power grid and water supply. Every scratch could be the beginning of the end, and death is permanent. Multiplayer servers allow cooperative settlements or tense player-run communities, while an enormous modding scene extends the map and systems.
