The sherry cask influence is well-integrated rather than dominating, and there's an elegant balance between sweetness and smoky complexity that few distilleries achieve this gracefully. That said, the price point — often exceeding $600-800 — places it firmly in special-occasion territory, and I'd argue the jump from the excellent 18-year expression doesn't always justify the steep premium.
