Vudu is a digital content delivery platform for renting and purchasing movies and TV shows, originally launched in 2004 and acquired by Fandango (a subsidiary of NBCUniversal) from Walmart in 2020. The service offers one of the largest digital catalogs of movies and television content, including new releases available the same day as disc release and an extensive library of classic and independent films.
Vudu supports up to 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos playback on compatible devices and is available on smart TVs, streaming devices, mobile platforms, and web browsers. The platform features a free ad-supported section called Movies On Us with thousands of titles available at no cost. Vudu is compatible with Movies Anywhere, allowing users to sync purchased titles across multiple digital platforms.
