Canada Goose is a Canadian luxury outerwear manufacturer founded in 1957 in Toronto by Sam Tick, originally under the name Metro Sportswear. The company built its reputation producing extreme-weather parkas for Arctic scientists, expedition teams, and workers in the world's coldest climates before becoming a global fashion brand.
The brand is best known for its down-filled parkas, including the Expedition Parka, Langford, and Chilliwack Bomber, many of which continue to be manufactured in the company's own Canadian facilities. Canada Goose positions its made-in-Canada production as central to the brand, and its jackets carry a recognizable circular arm patch. The product range has expanded to include lightweight down, rainwear, knitwear, footwear, and apparel for spring and fall.
Canada Goose went public in 2017 and trades on the New York and Toronto stock exchanges under the ticker GOOS. The company committed to ending the use of fur, ceasing manufacturing with fur by the end of 2022. It operates its own retail stores across North America, Europe, and Asia, with a significant presence in China, and sells through its e-commerce platform and select luxury retailers.
